Tim Don “The Man with the Halo”

If you aren’t familiar with Tim Don’s story, here is a brief overview.

Tim is a four-time ITU World champion (Junior Triathlon, Senior Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquathon). A four-time National British champion. As well as, a three-time Olympian, with multiple World Cup wins to his name.

Following his ITU success, Tim transitioned into doing half and full Ironman’s. In these longer distances Tim has enjoyed many ‘highs’, achieving multiple wins, podiums, as well as holding the world record for Ironman-branded events (7:40:23).

However, in October 2017 his upward rise in Ironman racing came to a sudden halt. In preparation for the 2017 World Ironman Championships, Tim was hit by a car on his bike. The accident left him with many cuts and bruises, but none more damning than a broken neck. Following the injury Tim went through strenuous physical therapy to return to health. Now in good health, he has his eyes on returning to the top of his sport. Just recently, on April 16th, Tim completed the Boston Marathon finishing in a time of 2:49:42.

Today, a year following his record setting Ironman in Brazil, the documentary “The Man with a Halo” was released by the sportswear company, On, on the dedicated website www.ManwiththeHalo.com. The documentary is produced by On and Emmy award-winning director, Andrew Hinton. The production gives fans an inside look into his injury, return to health and desire to return to competition.

Tim plans to compete at the Ironman Triathlon European Championship in Hamburg on July 29th, before taking on the 2018 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, come October 13th.
